Challenges in the Work Environment

Feature Icon

The number of lone workers increases every year.

Unsafe lone work raises the risk of accidents and stress. Lone workers risk not being discovered in the event of a fall, illness, or accident — no colleague is there to see or hear when something happens.

Work-related illnesses are costly for everyone

Long-term sick leave caused by strain injuries to the neck, shoulders, and back, as well as exposure to vibrations, results in significant costs for individuals, companies, and society. It also means suffering for those affected.
WAVR services are specifically designed to meet these challenges
We help companies prevent risks, establish safe routines, and build a secure work environment where both employees and the business thrive.

FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions

Why Zentnl?

The number of lone workers is increasing. When something happens to a lone worker, the time to first action is critical. Long-term sick leave due to strain injuries in the neck, shoulders and back, as well as exposure to vibration, is very costly for individuals, companies and society – and causes significant suffering for those affected. Zentnl was developed to address these challenges.

What is Zentnl?

Zentnl is a safety and health system based on smart workwear with integrated sensors. The system monitors lone work, ergonomics and physical workload, providing real-time alarms and long-term decision support for health and safety managers.

Why should we use Zentnl?

Zentnl reduces the time from incident to action and provides clear support in meeting legal health and safety requirements for high-risk lone work. Continuous ergonomics and workload reporting also gives you a fact-based picture of how work affecs the body over time, making it easier and faster to carry out risk assessments.

Who is Zentnl for?

Zentnl is designed for people working in demanding industrial environments and across dispersed sites – for example in energy, mining, construction, infrastructure and process industry. Typical users include workers, supervisors, control room/operations staff and HSE/health and safety managers.

Are there different Zentnl versions for different needs?

Yes. Zentnl-LWP (Lone Worker Protection) is aimed primarily at lone workers and the alarm chains around them, while Zentnl-HEALTH focuses on measuring and following up workload, ergonomics and exposures. Both packages can be implemented separately or together, and then scaled up as you expand usage.

How does Zentnl LWP – Lone Worker Protection work?

The system monitors falls and immobility based on defined thresholds. When an incident occurs, an automatic alarm is triggered to a predefined alarm group, supplemented with GPS location. Alarm times and thresholds can be adapted – in consultation with WAVR – depending on work environment, role and individual.

How does Zentnl HEALTH work?

The sensors record how the body is loaded during the work shift, for example time in awkward postures, repetitive movements, vibration or other defined exposure patterns. After the shift, the wearer receives simple feedback, such as a green/yellow/red assessment of the day’s load. In the portal, HSE receives aggregated statistics and reports for follow-up and decision-making.

How do we get started with Zentnl as a new customer?

Together with WAVR you choose the package and scope, define roles ( and alarm chains if LWP ), and decide which sites or groups will start first. This is followed by portal setup, training of key roles and a short evaluation of the technology. Once the evaluation group is running well, you can scale further in the organisation.

What are the requirements for equipment and IT environment?

Zentnl shirts comply with relevant ISO standards for protective clothing (for example high visibility and heat/arc protection where required), and the mobile app runs on standard Android and iPhone smartphones. The portal is web-based.

How are privacy, security and data handled?

Personal privacy and data security are central in Zentnl. Only authorised roles can see individual data, all communication is encrypted, and alarm and exposure data is stored in a structured way for follow-up and audit.

Shaping our world responsibly

WAVR is committed to using advanced technology to make a meaningful impact. The technology is developed in close collaboration with users, work environment coordinators, safety professionals, occupational health engineers, ergonomists, safety representatives, and researchers in occupational medicine.
